In addition to
your variety of acrylic colors, fllat brushes and one small round pointed brush,
canvases and/or watercolor paper, please bring vine charcoal; Ready Mixed
Concrete Patch (Ace Hardware)(one can would be enough for several people); putty
knife and palette knife, paper towels, collage material and glue, can for water
and paper plates for a palette. If you have some ideas for paintings, torn out
of art magazines, bring those too.
Bring what you have...Ziegler's haw a good supply of any thing you don't have
except for the Concrete.
I
was a Navy Journalist/Artist during the Korean War (1951-1955) and then worked
as an illustrator, graphic design artist and art director for 23 years before
becoming a fulltime painter of fine art in 1976. Paintings in selected
perminent collections include: The Vatican; China's National Palace Museum;
Moscow State University; The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History; National
Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum; the Oklahoma State Art Collection;
President Gerald R Ford Library Collection; and the President George and Barbara
Bush collection. My sculpture, "Wind Walker", a 23-foot tall bronze, is located
on the North Side of the Attorney General Office Building in the State Capitol
Complex.

Julie Miller - Oil Painting
1. Pre-stretched gessoed canvas 11" x 14" and other various sizes you prefer.
2. Good quality oil paints, tube, the best you can afford. (white, cadmium
yellow light, cadmium orange, cadmium red light, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre,
burnt umber, ultramarine blue, sap green). You can purchase a beginner's set
and be fine. Avoid those with "hue" in the name.
3. 1 or 2 wide-mounth jars with lids.
4. Odor-free turpentine or mineral spirits.
5. Three or more brushes, small-medium-large in filbert and/or flat shape
natural bristles.
6. Paper towels.
7. Palette, disposable paper or glass, the bigger the better.
8. One or two arrow shaped rounded tip metal palette knives (small and medium).
9. Photos and reference materials.

Color Pencil- 12 color prismacolor set plus, colorless blender, blush, indigo,

Pastel- Rembrandt pastels, 15 color 1/2 sticks plus a few "portrait shades". Nu-Pastels

medium color. Board to clip paper on.

2,4,6,8 filbert brushes, #2 eggbert brush, 3 to 5 8x10 canvas boards.
George Kountoupis Watercolor Seminar
Colors: new gamboge, cad red light, burnt seina, thalo or prussian blue, aliz.
crimson, ivory black, cad. orange, cad yell lemon, raw seina, yellow ochre,
manganese blue, perm rose, winsor violet.
Paper: I use 140 or 300# cold press or rough Arches. Any quality paper you like
using is fine also.
Brushes: 2" square wash brush. 1" soft flat, 1/4" flat. Small script/liner. I
also use a Simmons 3" "Sky Flow" brush, #RS278-W-3.
Other: Can or large water bowl, razor blades, pencils, pens, sketchbook, paper
or cloth towels, a board to mount or lay your paper, masking fluid, slat in
small container, 2"x6" mat scrap for straight edge and various techinques,
outdoor easel if needed, covered palette Pike or Wood's are good.

odorless thinner, Stretched canvas, Brushes (good grade synthetic): #4 round,
1/2" flat, 1" flat, Paints: Tit white, burnt seina, burnt umber, lemon yellow

DRAWING - Drawing pad - 14x17 or bigger, 2B, 6B
pencils, blending stump, magic rub eraser, kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener,
