Art Supply Lists
Find supplies you need for classes here. Look for your instructors name below. In almost all cases the supplies are available at Ziegler's.

Faye Vaughn - Tole/Acrylics
Brushes: assorted flat, filbert and round brushes. Princeton Set # 9037 is ideal to begin with.
Acrylic Paints: light, medium, and dark in the following colors: Red, yellow, blue, and green. Also White, black, burnt umber, seina, purple and orange.
Other Items: (in order of necessity) mixing knife, Stay-Wet Palette, water container, paper towels, pencil, graphite paper, ultra fine Sharpie, stylus, fluid writer, toothbrush, tracing paper, sand paper, tack paper, varnish.


Julie Miller - Oil Painting
1.  Pre-stretched gessoed canvas 11" x 14" and other various sizes you prefer.
2.   Good quality oil paints, tube, the best you can afford. (white, cadmium yellow light, cadmium orange, cadmium red light, alizarin crimson, yellow ochre, burnt umber, ultramarine blue, sap green).  You can purchase a beginner's set and be fine.  Avoid those with "hue" in the name.
3. 1 or 2 wide-mounth jars with lids.
4.  Odor-free turpentine or mineral spirits.
5.  Three or more brushes, small-medium-large in filbert and/or flat shape natural bristles.
6.  Paper towels.
7.  Palette, disposable paper or glass, the bigger the better.
8.  One or two arrow shaped rounded tip metal palette knives (small and medium).
9.  Photos and reference materials.

Ellen Shannon's Beginning Watercolor Class
1. Binder
2. Watercolors (I suggest M. Graham) Hansa yellow, Gamboge Yellow, Raw Seina, Burnt Umber, Lamp Black, Aliz. Crimson, Cad Red Light, Dioxazine Purple, Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Hookers Green Light, Thalo Green, Titanium White.
3. Watercolor palette with lid.
4. Brushes - would like six. large, medium, small, and extra small round. Liner or script. 1" flat.
5. kneaded or white eraser
6. .05 mechanical pencil, 2b or 4b
7. silk sponge
8. art or masking tape
9. drawing board for taping watercolor paper to.
10. Tracing paper pad, 8-1/2x11

Petroski Seminar:
Watercolor:1-2" wash brush
    Assted sizes round watercolor brushes (#9051 Princeton set will work for all brushes)
    Arches cold press or Fredrix watercolor canvas, 16x20 or less.
    Paints: any brand of yellow ochre, new gamboge or cad yellow med, cad red, alizarine crimson,
    ultramarine blue, cerulean blue, cad orange, Thio violet in Grumbacher, and quinacridone
    violet in Graham.
Color Pencil- 12 color prismacolor set plus, colorless blender, blush, indigo, and terra cotta. One
    stick light value pastel, pencil sharpener, gum eraser, pink eraser, matboard or paper in a medium
    value color 16x20 or less.
Pastel- Rembrandt pastels, 15 color 1/2 sticks plus a few "portrait shades". Nu-Pastels in assted shades.
    Conte pencils in assted shades. 2 sheets Mi-tientes paper in medium color. Board to clip paper on.
    alcohol. aluminum foil. xerox copy of photograph. #6 or bigger bristle brush.
Graphite- #2 or mechanical pencils. Tube of Charcoal gray watercolor paint. Round water color
    burshes, assted sizes. watersoluble graphite pencils. #10 or 12 large brush. gum eraser. pink
    eraser.  paper towels. cosmetic wedge sponges. watercolor paper or heavy drawing paper.
    xerox copy of photograph or from live model.
Oil- Tit. white, cad yellow light, yellow ochre, cad orange, cad red light, burnt umber, burnt seina
    raw umber, alizarin crimson, chrome oxide green, viridian, colbalt blue, ultramarine blue,
    ivory black. Optional: transparent oxide red, red ochre, stil de grain yellow, trans orange oxide.
    bristle brushes in filberts and rounds. sable round, big as affordable. 16x20 or smaller canvas

GINZIE'S OIL CLASS
Paints: Tit. White, Ivory Black, Yellow Ochre Pale, Cad Yell. Pale, Winsor Red, Cobalt Blue. Odorless Thinner, Palette Knife, Paper Towels, Paper palette, Size 2,4,6,8 filbert brushes, #2 eggbert brush, 3 to 5 8x10 canvas boards.

George Kountoupis Watercolor Seminar
Colors: new gamboge, cad red light, burnt seina, thalo or prussian blue, aliz. crimson, ivory black, cad. orange, cad yell lemon, raw seina, yellow ochre, manganese blue, perm rose, winsor violet.
Paper: I use 140 or 300# cold press or rough Arches. Any quality paper you like using is fine also.
Brushes: 2" square wash brush. 1" soft flat, 1/4" flat. Small script/liner. I also use a Simmons 3" "Sky Flow" brush, #RS278-W-3.
Other: Can or large water bowl, razor blades, pencils, pens, sketchbook, paper or cloth towels, a board to mount or lay your paper, masking fluid, slat in small container, 2"x6" mat scrap for straight edge and various techinques, outdoor easel if needed, covered palette Pike or Wood's are good.

ROSS MYER'S COLOR MIXING SEMINAR

ROSS MYER'S REGULAR CLASSES
Please have ALL your supplies with you for each class. Other supplies are good, but don't leave anything off.
WATERCOLOR - 140 or 300" Arches Cold press paper, Paper towels, Plastic palette, drawing board, paper tape, pencil, brushes (good grade synthetic): #4 & #6 round, 1/2" and 1" flat.
ACRYLIC - Wax paper, mixing knife, paper towels, pencil, stretched canvas, brushes (good grade synthetic): #4 round, 1/2" and 1" flat. Paints: Tit white, burnt umber, burnt seina, yellow oxide, cad yellow, cad red, quinacrodone crimson, thalo blue, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue.
OIL - Paper palette, mixing knife, paper towels, odorless thinner, Stretched canvas, Brushes (good grade synthetic): #4 round, 1/2" flat, 1" flat, Paints: Tit white, burnt seina, burnt umber, lemon yellow hue, cad yellow hue, cad red hue, prussian blue, perm rose, cerulean blue hue, ultramarine blue hue.
DRAWING - Drawing pad - 14x17 or bigger, 2B, 6B pencils, blending stump, magic rub eraser, kneaded eraser, pencil sharpener, compressed charcoal, charcoal pencil-soft or 6B, vine charcoal - soft or medium.
